Our Dream Blue project was designed to enhance knowledge, experience and skills amongst the young generation of seafarers and empower them to become pioneers in the Maritime industry. Out of eleven (11) Merchant Marine Academies, we have thus far visited three (3), namely, the Academy of Hydra, Macedonia and Ionian islands. This project is being applied under the sponsorship of companies of the Greek Maritime cluster aiming to:1. Empower the students of the National Merchant Marine Academies2. Develop the interpersonal skills of the new generation of Officers preparing to serve the Sea3. Upgrade maritime education by constructively completing the technical knowledge (hard skills) that students acquire during their studies, while learning and developing their soft skills4. Highlight the value of ‘seamanship’ and the cultivation of ethos and respect required by the sea5. Inspire, encourage and motivate young seafarers with the participation of our distinguished, experienced and renowned personalities of Global Shipping- our Ambassadors- Capt. Dimitrios Mattheou, Capt. Michalis Fragkias, Mr. Lambros Chahalis and Capt. George Xiradakis, who are willing to share their own maritime story. 6. The educational reconstruction and development of the National Merchant ShippingThe program includes five (5) Learning & Development sessions focusing on key competencies in performing hard skills efficiently-effectively-safely οn board & οn shore: – Communication- the human connection – Team work makes the dream work – Situational awareness- the helicopter view – Stress -Time –Self (STS) Management- Act wisely – Successful human performance- Lead and shape the culture you wantNext scheduled destinations of the Dream Blue project are the Merchant Marine Academies of Chios and Kymi.Our experiential voyage will continue inspiring the present and empower the future of the new generation serving Global Shipping.
